Throughout the year staff and pupils fundraise for a variety of charities and community projects. Below are some examples of the amazing charitable work Grange Academy have been involved with locally, nationally and internationally.
Fundraising 2021/2022

Christmas Jumper Day 2021
Thank you to staff and pupils who came to school in their Christmas jumpers on Wednesday 17th December 2021. It was a lovely day when staff and pupils also enjoyed Christmas lunch. Grange raised £56.15 for Save the Children.

Children in Need 2021
Thank you to parents, carers, staff and pupils for helping to raise £79.70 for Children in Need.

Hello Yellow Wellbeing and Mental Health Day
Thank you to parents, carers, staff and pupils for a wonderful YELLOW day on Friday 8th October 2021. We raised £71.25 for the mental health charity MIND.

McMillan Cake Sale
Thank you to parents, carers, staff and pupils for donating to our coffee morning. We raised £57.12 for McMillan.

Jeans for Genes
On Friday 17th September pupils and staff came dressed in their jeans to raise money for Jeans for Genes. The school raised an amazing £83.00 to support children with genetic disorders.

Charity Abseil - July 2021
Congratulations to Ms Catherine Assink ( Executive Principal and Interim Chief Education Officer of BILTT), Mrs Shannon Poulter (Maple Class Teacher) and Mrs Nikki Horner (Maple Class LSA) for completing their abseil down the National Lift Tower, in Northampton.
They raised an amazing £6050. That is an incredible sum of money. Well done!

Fundraising Archive 2020/2021
Donation of Shoes
Bedford Modern School has donated 250 pairs of shoes to Grange Academy for pupils and families. As part of their community service and charity work students at Bedford Modern chose Grange to donate school shoes to. For some of our pupils new shoes are a luxury and this donation has been gratefully received.

Red Nose Day
On Friday 19th March, Grange Academy supported Red Nose Day with the theme “The Power of Laughter, Funny is Power. Pupils and staff came dressed in clothes that made them feel good or made them smile. We raised an amazing £87.40.

Autism Awareness Day
On Friday 16th April, we celebrated Autism Awareness Day. Pupils and staff came to school wearing blue and learnt what autism is. We raised an amazing £150.00 for Autism Bedfordshire. We also held a poster competition. Pupils were asked to design a poster informing others about autism.
The winners were Kyle (Elm), Bella (Hazel) and Daniella (Pine)

Ghana Link School Receives Donations from Grange
As part of our continued work round Unicef Rights Respecting, we have linked with an international school, Rhema International Academy, Sogakope in the Volta Region of Ghana.
Grange families and staff worked together to collect a variety of educational resources, story books, DVDs, stationery and lunch boxes for under privileged pupils in Ghana.
The Ghana ICT Skills Hub (GISH) Foundation
The Ghana ICT Skills Hub (GISH) Foundation, a NGO into enhancing computer literacy with support from Grange Academy has been donated teaching and learning materials.
The materials will help students improve their reading skills and broaden their knowledge and understanding.
Food Share
Collaborating with CO-op and Waitrose, Grange are providing food for families and staff. This has been an outstanding initiative that has facilitated a reduction in food waste. Pupils have access to a wide range of quality food products from leading supermarkets.

MacMillan Coffee Morning
Thank you to parents, carers, staff and pupils for donating to our coffee morning. We raised £64.06 for McMillan.

Jeans for Genes
Thank you to parents, carers, staff and pupils for donating to our coffee morning. We raised £52.85 for Jeans for Genes.

Harvest Collection
Thank you to parents, carers, staff and pupils for the fantastic donations of food products for our Harvest collection. These will be donated to a local homeless shelter in Bedford.

Hello Yellow Wellbeing and Mental Health Day

Ghana DVD and Book Collection
Thank you for the generous donation of books and children’s DVDs. These will be donated to our link school in Ghana for children to watch at break and lunchtimes; many of these children will not have access to any electronic devices including TV and DVDs and school is the only place when they will be able to access this kind of entertainment.

Harpur Trust Support Grange Academy Forest School
A HUGE THANKS! Staff and pupils at Grange Academy would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the Harpur Trust, who have approved us a hefty grant in order for us to purchase a large, secure, metal container for our Forest School tools, kit, equipment and clothes.

B&Q Donate to Grange Academy
Grange Academy staff and all the Forest Schools students would like to thank Alex Blake, the manager of Bedford B&Q for the generous donations of tools for our Forest School.

Children in Need Bake Sale
Thank you to all staff who donated goodies and helped out for the bake sale, it was a very busy day and we sold all of the cakes. We made a total of over £65 just from the bake sale alone , well done team Grange!

Christmas Jumper Day
Thank you to all staff and pupils who donated to Save the Children on Christmas Jumper Day on Friday on 11th December 2020. There was a wide range of Christmas jumpers on show. We raised £70.50 in a very memorable way.

Grange Academy is a Unicef Gold Rights Respecting School and Gold Artsmark School. Ofsted rated ‘Good’ (May 2022).
