Important Information

Keeping You Informed

If your child develops symptoms during the school day we will phone you immediately and ask you to collect your child as soon as possible.

If we have to send your child home to self-isolate, due to a confirmed case in their bubble, then we will text or phone you to collect them and give you a letter detailing how long they must self-isolate for.

What To Do If ....

The document below gives guidance on what to do in various Covid-related scenarios. If you are in any doubt please telephone school before sending your child in.

If you receive a positive test result over a weekend, then it’s important that you let us know immediately so that we can inform those families whose children will need to self-isolate, before they arrive in school on Monday morning.

Managing Risk and Working Safely

Our Covid Risk Assessment is based around national guidance, local policy and the evaluated in school risk. Wherever possible all pupils and staff are advised to maintain good hygiene, good ventilation in all classrooms and mask wearing in some circumstances.  We promote the “Catch it, Bin it, Kill it” approach and all members of the school community are encouraged to wash their hands regularly throughout the day.

From November 2021 we encourage pupils to wear face coverings in corridors when moving between lessons, however, we are aware that many of our students are exempt from having to wear these.

Grange Academy is a Unicef Gold Rights Respecting School and Gold Artsmark School. Ofsted rated ‘Good with outstanding leadership’ (July 2017).
